How to Make Chocolate pastry

Perfect for sweet tarts and desserts, this sweet chocolate pastry recipe is easy to make and tastes delicious! This recipe makes enough to line a 20cm tart tin.

How to Make Chocolate Pastry


  • 140g plain flour   
  • 50g butter
  • 1tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1tbsp icing sugar
  • 1tbsp olive oil
  • 1 egg yolk


  1. Rub together the flour and butter until it resembles breadcrumbs.
  2. Add the cocoa powder, icing sigar, oil and egg yolk and fold the mixture together with a knife. Add 1-2 tsp of warm water to bring the dough together if required.
  3. Gather the dough into a ball, this can either be wrapped in cling film or wax wrap and stored in the fridge or rolled out onto a floured surface ready to line a tart case.
