225g butter, 300g caster sugar, 4 eggs, 2tsp vanilla extract, 250g plain flour, 250ml full fat milk, 2 tsp baking powder

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Beat the butter until soft and fluffy then add the sugar and beat until combined. Add the eggs one at at a time then stir in the vanilla extract.
Add half the flour and milk and stir until combined then add at remaining flour, milk and baking powder stirring again until combined.
